(A/R) An infantry regt consisting of 16 coy (A-O) organized into 4 bn:

THE GRAND DUCHESS' OWN FOOT "Tender Foot" (R) Now a light infantry bn, frequently used in a scouting role. Originally formed as an infantry coy by Sir Trevor and expanded in 1854 to a 4 coy bn (with an "extra" rifle platoon). Its "extra" plt--THE GRAND DUCHESS' OWN RIFLES "HOT Flash"--is now an anti-tank unit equipped with HOT missiles.

"C" COY "Coconut" (A) were among the Wotanberger army units sent to the Seiber Islands in 1881 as part of the newly formed Seiber Rifles when Germany and Britain transferred their respective holdings in the islands to the Grand Duchy. "C" COY remained in the islands until 1950, the year the islands gained full independence. The current nickname of "C" COY reflects its long stay in the Seibers Islands, one of whose exports is coconuts.

THE GRAND DUKE'S OWN FOOT "Tyred Foot" (A/R) Now a lorried infantry bn equipped with various wheeled vehicles. Originally formed as an infantry coy by Sir Trevor and expanded in 1854 to a 4 coy bn (with an "extra" rifle platoon). 1 PLT "H" COY (A) is currently attached to the WEB. Its "extra" plt--THE GRAND DUKE'S OWN RIFLES "HOT Wheels"--is now an anti-tank unit equipped with HOT missiles.

THE CHANCELLOR'S OWN MUSKETEERS "Chancellor's Foot" (R) An heavy infantry bn whose honorary colonel-in-chief and patron is always the Grand Duchy's current Chancellor (i.e., Prime Minister). Originally formed as an infantry coy by Sir Trevor and expanded in 1854 to a 4 coy bn (with an "extra" rifle platoon). Its "extra" plt--THE CHANCELLOR'S OWN RIFLES "Big TOW"--is now an anti-tank unit equipped with 3 Weasels TOW.

"K" COY "Kanu" (R) were among the Wotanberger army units sent to the Mustela Islands in 1890 as part of the newly formed Grand Duke's African Rifles when Germany and Britain transferred their respective holdings in the islands to the Grand Duchy. "K" COY remained in the islands until 1950, the year the islands gained full independence. The current nickname of the COY reflects the fact that for much of its stay in the islands, "K" COY was attached to the Kikundi cha Makanu ("Weasel Batallion") of first the Grand Duke's African Rifles and then the Mustela Rifles.

PRINCE BRENDAN'S OWN GEBIRGSJÄGER FREIKORPS "Cold Feet" (R) Now an alpine bn. Originally an ad hoc rifle coy= composed of Jäger (i.e., "hunters") which fought in the 1815 campaign. Its survivors were formed into a rifle coy by Sir Trevor and expanded in 1857 to a 4 coy bn (with an "extra" rifle platoon). The retention and use of German in the coy and plt names is in honour of the original unit's especially brave defense of the Grand Duchy in 1815. Some of its current soldiers are descendents of the few survivors of that campaign. Its "extra" plt--PRINCE BRENDAN'S OWN GEBIRGSPANZERJÄGER "HOT Foot"--is now an anti-tank unit equipped with HOT missiles.

THE WESELSTEINER SCHÜTZEN "Club Foot" (A/R) Now a mixed(-up) coy with 2 elite light infantry plt and 2 anti-tank plt. Originally an ad hoc rifle plt= composed of members of the Schützenverein Weselstein ("Weselstein Shooters' Club") which played a decisive role in the 1815 campaign. Most of its current personnel are also members of that august organization. The plt was expanded into a two plt coy in 1859, and then into a 4 plt coy in 1939. It 4 plt are:

THE KING'S OWN SCHÜTZEN "HOT Schotzen" (R) Now an anti-tank plt equipped with HOT missiles, it was the original plt established by Sir Trevor in 1815. The "King" referred to in the plt's name is the current Schützenkönig ("champion shot") of Schützenverein Weselstein, who serves as the unit's honorary colonel in chief. The unit was converted to its current ant-tank role in 1939, when it was equipped with British Boyes .55 cal anti-tank rifles.

THE QUEEN'S OWN SCHÜTZEN "Pot Schotzen" or "Annie Oakley" (R) Still a rifle plt, it was originally called the GRAND-DUCAL SCHÜTZEN when established in 1859. The "Queen" referred to in the plt's current name is the current Schützenkönigin ("champion shot") of Schützenverein Weselstein, who serves as the unit's honorary colonel in chief. The unit was renamed in 1899 after the Schützenverein had opened its membership up to women in conjunction with Annie Oakley's visit to club while she toured Europe with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show.

PRINCESS AMY'S OWN SCHÜTZEN "Twinkle TOWs" or "Ballet Troupe" (R) Now an anti-tank plt equipped with TOW missiles, it was originally one of two rifle plt added in 1939. The unit was converted to its current ant-tank role in 1939, when it was equipped with British Boyes .55 cal anti-tank rifles. The unit is named in honor of a member of the Grand-Ducal family who took personal shooting lessons from Annie Oakley when she visited the Grand Duchy and became the Schützenverein's first and longest-reigning Schützenkönigin. The unit's nicknames reflect Princess Amy's life-long interest in dance.

PRINCE CAMERON'S OWN (PARA-) SCHÜTZEN "(St) Michael's Foot" (A) An airborne plt added in 1939. It is currently attached to the WEB serving as Marivella Islands. The unit is named in honor of a member of the Grand-Ducal family who was the first Wotanberger to attempt to parachute from GDAS Wotanberg. Tragically, his parachute failed to deploy properly and he was killed.

They include an engineer tp "Trench Foot"; a logistics support plt "Foot Locker"; a catering sec "Foot Long" ; a military police plt "Flat Foot"; a graves registration sec "Boot Hill"and a medical sec "Podiatrist".
